Process

To generate our personas we went out on interviews and gathered information form individuals who had gone through the process before. After each interview the interviewer would debrief the entire team on the interview. The other members would write down important notes which summarized the interview to generate a complete picture for each of our interviewees.

Interview Notes 3 Interview Notes 4

From there we came up with 7 main characteristics which we felt accurately described the individuals we interviewed.

Persona Characteristics

From there we generated our personas using the characteristics making sure to have somewhat of a spread for each of the characteristics. We grounded each of our claims with at least one aspect from our individual interviews to make sure we were not skewing our pesonas from personal experiences.

We then analyzed our interviews and figured out the process each one of our interviewers used to find an apartment. From there we generated a Task Analysis which used a flow diagram model to illustrate the linearity of the process.

The flow diagram highlighted the interesting areas opportunities which could benefit significantly from some degree of redesign. These areas included exploration of areas where apartments are located, shopping for apartments, and managing prospective apartments. From these areas we generate scenarios which a typical user would find themselves in and corresponding storyboards highlighting how our proposed solutions could help solve some of the problems on a high level.
