We are students who are attending the Olin College of Engineering in Needham, MA. Over the course of this semester, our team will be working on a project that focuses on redesigning the interaction between people and specific software interfaces. The goal of the course is to better understand the impacts of interface design on end user experience. Our team is focusing on the interactions people have with software which will suggests activities for a single, or group, of people, who are not aware of their available options.
If you agree to our request, our team will be performing interviews with A/V recording systems in order to document our conversations for later examination. With your consent, we may also document parts of the interview with photos or videos that show your interaction with an interface design. In order to protect your privacy, we will substitute your name in all of our discussions with a pseudonym. Any identifying information will not be disclosed or published without your express permission. However, you should be aware that our design work will be accessible on a publicly available website hosted by Olin College.
On a personal level there is almost no risk involved with this project. We will do our best to arrange an interview(s) when it is most convenient for you, in order to minimize any interference with your daily schedule. There will be no compensation for participating in an interview, but we would be more than happy to keep you informed of our project's progress if you are interested.
