This is the wiki ENGR 3220 Human Factors and Interface Design at Olin College. I have consolidated current team list and projects as well as prior versions of the course in the same place.
Most recent update: 20080623
Announcements
[20080623 MCJ] A number of updates were not flagged here through the end of the semester. However, the
projects have been linked in at this point. [20080203 MCJ] Hopefully, you've had success sitting down and getting some more information from users in your prospective user class. We'll have some more hands-on time Monday, so be prepared to dive in.
[20080130 MCJ] As of Wednesday, I do not have all of the team names and their memberships. This prevents me from adding wiki accounts and web spaces, which you need sooner rather than later.
[20080130 MCJ] As of Wednesday, only 9 members of the class have taken and passed the
IUB test regarding human subjects in research.
FLUSH WIKI. Sometimes the wiki doesn't let you edit even if you are logged in. Clicking on this link should fix that.
Current project assignment
[20080331 LGC] You are working towards completing your Interaction Assessment.
[20080203 MCJ] You are working towards completing your needs analysis.
[20080129 MCJ] You are working on your project proposal.
[20080126 MCJ] Currently you are preparing for your pitch so we can get rolling on Monday. You are also taking the Wisconsin tutorial so you know how to properly treat human beings in research studies.
Assignments
[20080331 LGC] You are working towards completing your HI-FI Prototype.
[20080129 MCJ] We will start working towards the needs analysis document on Thursday. We'll talk about and dig into personas in-class, as well as discuss your first round of user interviews.
[20080129 MCJ] Your project proposal should come in before I read them Thursday morning. I am sorry I updated the wiki late Tuesday instead of late Monday.
[20080125 MCJ] Note that I will be asking questions and leading a discussion of the readings during Monday's class as well.
[20080121 MCJ] You can certainly start on the first reading, if you have nothing better to do.
